Frequently asked questions.

So you’re a calligrapher…does this mean you write fancy letters on paper?

It sure does! After years of learning and experience, I provide calligraphy services on paper in studio (wedding day-of stationery, place cards for private events, commissioned calligraphy artwork, you name it!) as well as on-site services for brand events and activations.

Paper is always a classic option, but I also engrave on fragrances, metals, and glass surfaces as well as hot foiling on leather products.

Where can you work on-site?

I’m based in New York City (shout out to the BX!) but can work on-site anywhere! Have passport, will travel.

I need calligraphy for my wedding. How long will that take you?

Every wedding, like every couple, is different. Timelines differ based on how many pieces you’re interested in (invitation design, place cards, escort cards, table numbers, menus, envelope addressing), so get in touch to talk details!

As a rule of thumb, consider mailing your wedding invitations 8-10 weeks prior to the big day (give it more time if you have a destination wedding). Collect RSVPs 3-4 weeks before your wedding day, so you can share a confirmed guest list for day-of stationery, like escort cards and place cards.

In general, I request one full week for a project before incurring any rush fees.

How much do you charge for calligraphy services?

It depends on the project needs: number of pieces, type of services, or number of hours needed to be on-site.

My in-studio minimum is $300 and on-site minimum is $1,000.

Who is part of the Ranisha Singh team?

You’ll be communicating directly with Ranisha, owner and calligrapher.

The team also includes Kaju, her rescue dog, but he is still an unpaid intern until he can learn how to respond to emails.
